Characteristics of Ammonium Alginate:

Ammonium alginate, light yellow to brown amorphous powder or granules, has good hydrophilicity, thickening property and gelling property. Due to its relatively pure organic product characteristics, it has a low ash content. Ammonium alginate, as a hydrophilic colloid, is readily soluble in water to form a viscous solution. Ammonium alginate can rapidly undergo ion exchange when encountering calcium ions, forming a gel, which is thermally irreversible. The gel formed by high-G-type alginate is hard but brittle. The gel formed by high M-type alginate is the opposite, with good flexibility but low hardness. Adjusting the two proportions can produce gels of different strengths.

Applications of Ammonium Alginate:

* Used for sealing coating films on bottle caps of canned products.

* It is not flame-retardant and can be used for coating food packaging paper, which is convenient for the incineration treatment of waste paper.

* Rubber concentrator, chewing gum base agent.
